To Become Your Future Self, You Must Let Go of Your Present Self

When you're looking to transform and achieve great results in your life, what you are really seeking is a shift and evolution in identity.
However, it is difficult for you to transform into a new version of "you" when your old patterns and current identity are holding you back.
Instead of visualizing intensely on the person you want to become, it may be helpful for you to release your attachment to your current identity.
Why are you exactly where you are in life? Why are you still working your current job? Why are you still at the same weight? Why is nothing changing in your life?
Is it that you need more motivation? Do you need to listen to another audiobook? Another David Goggins clip on YouTube? Another ten minutes visualizing success? Do you need to recite more affirmations?
The truth is, you already know what you want to achieve. What's really holding you back is your attachment to your current self image. You are subconsciously waking up every day and choosing to be the person you currently are.
If you want to move past this, then you will have to let go of your current identity. You do this by sitting in a quiet space, getting into a meditative posture, and tuning into the very person you are.
Tune into your current self-image. Thoughts connected to that image will emerge. Those thoughts will be connected to feelings. Sit with those feelings and let them fill your body. Take them all in, and then breathe outwardly. Exhale.
You will find that as you continue to do this, your attachment to this current image will begin to weaken as you'll come to realizations for why you were holding onto it in the first place.
Perhaps you felt a sense of security, perhaps you had a sense of belonging, perhaps you felt that you had an obligation to stay in your current state.
Whatever it is, your attachment to this identity will begin to dissolve the second you bring it to mind and release it through breathwork.
